  1. A 12-Step Program for Preparing and Reviewing for the NJ ASK in Grade 7-8 Mathematics (Grades 7-8) LLTeach Staff
    8:00 – 9:00 AM on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16
    Participants will become involved in engaging and interest building activities that foster greater conceptual understanding and skill recall, extend retention time, and connect instruction to assessment, not only during review but throughout the year as well.
  2. Radical Reform for Radical Algebra (Grades 8-12) LLTeach Staff
    9:30 – 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16
    High failure rates in Algebra I may require drastic changes. This session reveals an initiative that promotes discovery learning, active participation and professional support by using Discovery Algebra, Smart board® TI-N-spire calculators, Communicator® clearboards, and provides professional support through intensive workshops and classroom coaching as well.
  3. Include Computational Fluency When Using a Standards-based Curriculum (Grades 3-6) LLTeach Staff
    11:00 AM– 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16
    A well balanced program must include concrete, iconic and symbolic stages of learning to ensure understanding, maximize retention and promote quality applications in new situations; however, it cannot lose sight of mastering facts and number sense. Learn how to integrate both aspects into existing programs.
  4. Games- An Essential Component for Differentiation and Center-Time Activities (Grades 3-8) LLTeach Staff
    12:30 – 1:30 PM on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16
    This session will provide participants with a four-step game implementation plan. Participants will play several games that provide skill and conceptual practice while promoting problem solving as well. CD's with selected games that include PowerPoint directions will be distributed.
